The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the statistical breakdown of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. According to the latest report, the majority of candidates scored between 160 and 199. See the detailed statistics in the image below.
As part of the results, 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to showcase their exceptional abilities. However, only 467 of them (1.16%) met the threshold for exceptional performance as defined by the UTME, with further assessment in subsequent stages still pending.
Additionally, JAMB announced that the results will be released this week. The board reported that of the total number of registered candidates:
– 97 were involved in examination infractions
– 2,157 are under investigation for suspected malpractice
– 71,701 were absent
– Candidates facing biometric challenges are currently being reviewed, with those cleared set to be rescheduled for the exam at designated centres
Furthermore, some results—such as those of blind candidates and others under the JEOG category—are still being processed.
JAMB has also announced that a press conference will be held later this week to formally release the individual results and provide guidance on result-checking procedures.
